By default, the clients computers get their time from a Domain Controller and the Domain Controller gets his time from the domain\u2019s PDC Operation Master. Therefore the PDC must synchronize his time from an external source. I usually use the servers listed at the\u00a0<a title=\"NTP Pool Project\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pool.ntp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">NTP Pool Project\u00a0<\/a>website. Before you begin, don\u2019t forget to open the default UDP 123 port (in- and outbound) on your (corporate) firewall.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First, locate your PDC Server. Open the command prompt and\u00a0type:\u00a0<strong><em>C:\\&gt;netdom \/query fsmo<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Log in to\u00a0your PDC Server and open the command prompt.<\/li>\n<li>Stop the W32Time service:\u00a0<strong><em>C:\\&gt;net stop w32time<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Configure the external time sources, type:\u00a0<strong><em>C:\\&gt; w32tm \/config \/syncfromflags:manual \/manualpeerlist:\u201d0.pool.ntp.org, 1.pool.ntp.org, 2.pool.ntp.org\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Make your PDC a reliable time source for the clients. Type:<strong><em>\u00a0C:\\&gt;w32tm \/config \/reliable:yes<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Start the w32time service:\u00a0<strong><em>C:\\&gt;net start w32time<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The windows time service should begin synchronizing the time.
